Based in the Bay of Plenty township of Katikati, our welcoming team prides itself on excellent service and an intimate knowledge of everything our special little corner of New Zealand has to offer

Owner Kate Pfennig moved back to New Zealand from the USA in 2011 after years of farming and more than two decades travelling the world with her husband and their three boys.

Kate purchased the Katikati Motel, which she ran for four and a half years, and launched ND Kiwi Tours to share her passion for travel and New Zealand with others. Her time working on a sheep and beef farm in North Dakota gave rise to the ‘ND’ in the ‘ND Kiwi Tours’ name. The farm was near the state capital, Bismarck, and she calls herself a North Dakota Kiwi.

Our tour company has grown and we now have three expert guides operating two comfortable air-conditioned vans. Our spacious 11-seater is ideal for larger groups, while our nine-seat wheelchair-accessible van ensures we can offer a tour experience everyone can enjoy. All of our team is committed to sustainable tourism and we are proud to hold Qualmark accreditation recognising our consistent service standards and consideration for the environment.

During the cruise ship season we make regular trips to the Port of Tauranga to pick up cruise passengers for day tours exploring some of the most exciting attractions in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Small group day trips are run throughout the year, as well as specialised tours outside the region and to lesser-known spots that are off the beaten track.

We also provide a range of services for the local Western Bay of Plenty community. These include our Kate’s Kabs taxi service and Town Connector bus service, self-contained RV parking in Katikati, wheelchair-accessible van hire, and Specialised School Transport Assistance to help students with mobility or safety needs get to and from school.
